Flight-Tracker.net is designed to work without collecting personal data. Browsing needs no account, nothing is gated behind one, and no advertising network watches what you look at. An optional free account exists purely so you can save flights and airports to a dashboard, and this page sets out exactly what that does and does not store.

What we collect

  • Accounts are optional. Every feature, the live map included, works without signing up. Nothing is held back for members.
  • If you do sign in with Google, we store the name, email address and profile picture Google returns, plus the list of things you save. That is the entire record. We never receive or store your Google password.
  • Server logs. Standard web-server logs record the IP address, user agent and requested URL of each request. They exist so we can debug faults and spot abuse, they are kept briefly, and they are not used to build a profile of anyone.
  • No advertising trackers. There are no third-party ad or analytics tags on this site. We do not sell or share visitor data.
  • No tracking cookies. Browsing anonymously sets no cookies at all. Signing in sets one session cookie so the site knows it is still you; it is used for nothing else, and signing out clears it.

What loads from somewhere else

We self-host our fonts and stylesheets specifically so that opening a page does not hand your IP address to a third party. Two exceptions are worth naming plainly:

  • Map tiles are fetched by your browser from CARTO as you pan and zoom, so that provider sees the requests your browser makes for map imagery.
  • Live aircraft data is fetched from an upstream aviation-data service by our server, not your browser, so your visit is never exposed to that service.

About aircraft data

Aircraft positions shown on the map are broadcast publicly by aircraft transponders using ADS-B and relayed through receiver networks. These are unencrypted radio transmissions that anyone with a receiver can pick up, and they describe aircraft rather than people. This is not personal data collected by us.

If you operate an aircraft and have a concern about how it appears here, email us and we will look at it. Filtering decisions are generally made upstream, at the data-source level, rather than by individual tracking sites.

Your rights

If you never sign in, we hold no personal data of yours at all. If you do have an account, the Delete account button on your dashboard removes your profile and every saved item immediately and irreversibly, with no need to email anyone.

If you have emailed us then we hold that correspondence, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
